Re: And with that...

I thought we had a debate forum to avoid this stuff.

Guess its just another failed idea.

Peace, G.

Might not be far behind ya, getting too old for this shit and its starting to matter less and less.

Re: External Storage - Carbonite etc.

For the record, I never used to care about my personal data getting out on the net. I still don't for the most part.

But after going through some of the training I've been forced to because I work at a bank, it is freaking scary what someone who is determined to steal data can do.

Re: External Storage - Carbonite etc.

My only concern with sites like Carbonite is - they are not something you have control over. If a super virus breaks out and exposes all the data these data storage places house, all your private stuff could end up out there, or in the hands of someone who can use it. Plus, Carbonite installs itself...

Re: job applications I feel good about

Our Network Manager's wife is doing her residency at Hopkins. Great place to work from everything I've heard, know a few people that have worked there. I interviewed at one of their affiliate offices in Columbia before I took my current job. Not a huge fan of Baltimore though, goodluck with that hor...

Re: Intellectual thread for Gerien

I actually read that article (its a boring week at work) and made a note to myself to post it in here.
I apparently lost the note some place.

Damnit.

Re: External Storage - Carbonite etc.

slim external hard drive, fire proof safe.
Save for a bomb going off in my house, or someone wanting to steal a big ass safe, its the easiest thing to do.

Re: Post yer loot

I've bought my wife house hold appliances and items before. We have a rule where if its something that can actually be used, then why not spend the money on it versus buying something that will sit on a shelf, in the attic, or end up being given to someone else because it "seemed cool" but...

Re: Post yer loot

My son got way too many gifts to mention. Couple of the ones I remember are: Dinasaur puppets from his Aunt. He loves these things. A Dry-erase board that we put on his wall so he can color on from me and my wife. my inlaws bought a bunch of lumber that we are building floor to wall shelves on one h...

Re: Hosting recommendations?

1&1 isn't too bad, I signed up for a free hosting thing with them when they first came out and I think its still active. No idea what the credentials are though.

Godaddy is another solid one I've used, with big name recognitition. But For what you want, 1&1 would be fine.

Re: You have a hobby? Share them here

Well ok I lied, when I'm not working I actually play a couple games.

Just bought Battlefield Bad Company 2. Interesting game, I play with a coworker and his brother and we actually kick decent ass.

Oh, and I still occassionally play WoW still.

Re: Saving up for a ring

Ron, I actually did the "let her pick the ring herself" thing. We were at the mall one day and I got a phone call that ended up running a little long. There was some jewelry store across the way and I jokingly told her she should go find a ring. So when I finished she was in the store look...

Re: Saving up for a ring

Some places, like Zales, etc. allow you to get credit with them. You can use that to purchase the ring and then just pay it off as you go. Sometimes you can even get 6 months or 1 year no interest.

Re: Monarchy Study

The Tom Hanks thing was a joke. I don't remember how it started but for some reason or another we used to refer to Hern as Tom Hanks. I think maybe in some random photo of her she looked like him or something, maybe Maverick would remember. I think itw as Gen who coined that term. To the best of my ...
