You can say whatever you want, but the reality is that Ive never tried to drive you out, in fact Ive spent a good amount of time trying to figure out ways to bring people back.

Call me whatever names you want, just proves the irony in your sentiment. I post to Tara joking about coming back and playing (because lord knows we need more active players) and you decide to post about why you quit playing? What relevance does it have?

Its absolutely unnecessary. And the hilarity is, I never insulted you 1 time. I civilly asked you, what was the reason for posting that.

I can vouch for that... and while I couldn't stand 'you' (your character in game) at times, there's no doubt that you could prove to be a formidable foe (and ally) at times, and even when down your team didn't give up without a spirited brawl. A good competitor, and like several others among us: a good number-cruncher and above all, a decent organizer that could muster a sizable # of players scattered around the globe, if I'm not mistaken, to exact a coordinated a strike. All that hard work (and make no mistake - being a competitive GM took a helluva lot of hours and dedication working with all sorts, keeping them jazzed enough to even simply show up at all, let alone coordinate strikes at ungodly hrs) equated to more fun for all IMHO... and it challenged your fellow players to better themselves if they want to beat you, or find their own place in the sun and find their own fun in that backdrop.

So in short, thank you Mav, and to the many other fellow GMs and AGMs like you out there (too many to name)... it's the people like you that kept me coming back, and I'm sure I can't be the only one. Good times, all (for the most part).

What killed the fun fwit (and what drove me away more than once, and still turns my stomach) is the bad attitudes. Having an evil in-game persona is one thing... being a cunt is quite another. There's a limit, a line and when its crossed it stops being fun or remotely entertaining. "Persona's" should be left for RP (a concept long dead, I know) and petty crap should be nipped in the bud - outside of a pack of 2 yr olds, there's no call or place for that in a gaming environment (i.e., good sports/graceful winners & losers anyone?). But that's just me.

PS: Getting things back on track here, it says something about a community when people work so hard to keep it afloat like this for so long after it's 'heyday'... These folks care about it, and that should be respected. And anyway when you have a forum with people from every corner of the globe welcomed in the mix, and with them many different cultures and POV's represented (*which is something that we ALL should try to be a little more mindful of by the way when we post... on both sides of the Atlantic - while often just as proficient in English, we are NOT always the same or think the same... sometimes in subtle but very real ways), there are bound to be personality conflicts and misunderstandings. But this forum and ones like it are what's fascinating about the web, and is the power of the web, no?
