We were wondering what was going on, SW parking lotted one of ours last night, Joking thought it was just a single person since there was no follow up so we were going to decide what to do today. Then they attacked another (my sorc kingdom) early this morning, still no forum post or guild war dec and I was the only one on so I was waiting before I did anything.

Well, at least I got to take one down with my remaining kingdom (I wasn't going to leave a 50k acre centaur kingdom...) before you guys swarm us under with overwhelming numbers.

The first strike was rather underwhelming considering the number of kingdoms, seems like less than half really hit so far.

Kinda neutralizes some of the first strike advantage letting some of us strike back before you have fully hit even half a day after the war began.

Edit - Looks like gatekeepers is striking now so yeah, pretty much no first strike advantage.

I did some damage to TFC but it is strange that no one even bothered to do anything to G, but that is good for me I guess.

That is why I made sure to send you guys in game mail so you would know you were at war if you didn't check the boards before using turns I didn't see any indication of gatekeepers being hit yet.

Basically the war was supposed to start after the holiday on the 4th. Calen wanted to hit immediately e.g. 00:00 am game time (UTC) on the 5th. When described to Stee, times were generally mentioned with conversion to EDT, but using the 5th as the date. It was still the 4th EDT when the war strike actually began.

Basically SW hit 24 hours before TFC, and have in fact told everyone that TFC are involved even before TFC have hit. At this point as far as I'm aware there has been a little wave using 4 kingdoms (2 players from SW) last night, and me hitting with my 2 SW kingdoms today.

Prior to this thread going up I had suggested over PM to Stee and Calen that we should hold off on actually posting anything until TFC had actually struck, and the war was actually SW-TFC vs NIR-G (rather than just SW vs NIR). But for some reason this thread got posted anyway, probably more confusion (seems to have been the core of this strike).

Essentially by posting before TFC were involved, Angelique was actually given first strike against TFC. I'd say that pretty much neutralises any numeric advantage we might have had. It probably also neutralises any real chance we had of actually making some progress on reducing the dominance of Angelique

Anyway, I thought you guys might be interested in what's actually happened here.

Yeah. The broken attack was confusing. Darnivan pretty much covered all the bases, but I was sitting on max turns anyway with hoarded gold. NIR's counterattack has commenced and Silver Wolves unfortunately had to bare the brunt of it. Ouchies....

Considering how well the anti-Angie coalition did last age (not well enough to prevent a blue win given restore), this is going south in a disappointing manner. It's no one's fault, and we're shortly not going to have enough firepower high enough in the scrolls to touch the top kingdoms.

Sigh. Oh well.

Nice war, although I was looking for NIR to actually hit TFC + SW and leaving Gatekeepers on the bench

As for the current war, it would have been very much interesting to see the outcome if the Reds didn't blunder right away in the opening. But ofcourse, i'm rooting for our faithmates and the Reds are gonna need all the luck they can get in this outcome. Angelique victory may not be far from the horizon now

By the way, how long does an age last?

Yes, there was some errors in communication, but still this has been a good war thus far. I'll be going all out in it as this, unfortunately, will be my last war in Monarchy for the foreseeable future.
