Start up and get a feel for things, age is due to reset any time now.

Don't worry about me, I'll dive right in and kick some arse. But that offer is not remotely close to a Venus lapdance, try again!

Kain,

Not sure if you have already made realms or not, but if you check out the guild ranks/realms page you will see that on paper the guilds seem pretty well matched up. Unless you have an elf you want to play...my guild is probably a no go. Dauthi and Reylan's guilds are both out for the age due to other issues. That leaves NIR, TRR, and SUCK. If I was a betting man, I am think Leto probably needs the numbers...but Barnie needs the experienced vets. And NIR...they just picked up a great player a short while ago (Bundes)...so take your pick of poison...

Glad to see you back...

i'm a terrible player! i think i was only top 10 in outcast and chaos once or twice, each. max.

and i never played solo (well, i did, but usually i stopped pretty quickly because i got bored). that was a game unto itself.

my high point in guilds actually occurred the second age i ever played (first age after the move to evernight). if it weren't for virch, i would have finished second, but we were quaded and he chewed up my t4 by doing "good fight" attacks against an enemy kd... the game reset before i had time to refort, so he finished ahead of me and i ended up 4th lol

Is that why I had you pegged amongst my most lethal opponents in turmoil? When you would declare war on the entire turmoil boards until we sorc killed you? My memory from prior to 2010 is better than you think ;)

And yes, I remember your multimillion net doms battling out with Virch and Exile...I wish Virch would come back...he was such a great opponent.

Look at the bright side, I give you a lot of adversarial respect...

haha, i honestly have a very poor memory of that period in my life, so i can't remember most of what happened. declaring on all of turmoil does sound like something i'd do, though, to shake things up ;)

i think virch was a little overrated. fdragon, exile, torkano, dux, steven and others were better (although i only remember steven ever playing outcast/castaway and not chaos/turmoil). tne's best age, in my opinion, came when fdragon ran all their strikes. it was one of the few ages in which a single faith did not completely dominate the upper scrolls, so it was really their victory when they won (as compared to so many ages when foret used sheer numbers and outside help to win).

I see your quote game, sir, and I call! ~shows her cards~

The only game I am not playing right now is Domination - well, Dom. and our development game area..which I've needed to remake after the reset/move..and now that I've told on myself I should probably go and do that now ;>

Hopefully people will see Domination kingdoms and think I'm venus and kill all the kingdoms so I can better manage my turn playing time with the others - ha ha

(and an edit - I will admit however, some of our older players MAY be intimidating..just a smidge at times - but I don't mind feeling like a new player all over again either)

Blast from the past! Highwarlok peeks in....

Post by Highwarlok » Wed Nov 18, 2015 3:52 am

So I guess this is the where all us old dudes are supposed to post (OPA).

Back in the early 2000's a freind of mine you might remember as DaWizzz found this game and I got roped in as well. I played and posted as Highwarlok. I started out as a complete rookie and the crew over at TBH (The Black Hand) took DaWizzz and I in and showed us what this game was about. We played with TBH for many an age until things went sideways. We followed Reaper and Raila/ Tariq into KAN (Kansuf Al Narr) where we both did stints as AGM. Things have changed a lot since way back then. I still don't have time to play regularly, life with 4 kids at home will keep you running. Every year I get an auto reminder from the original KAN group and this year I figured I would kick the bee hive and see if anyone from the old days was still around.

This game brought a sense of community and I loved the countless hours I spent playing it.
I am glad to see it is still around in its new form.

If you remember me at least say hello.

~Highwarlok~

Welcome back Highwarlock, I can't say that I do remember the two of you, but I thought I'd post anyway. I do remember TBH and KAN and I think there there are a few people who might remember you who pop in on occasion. These boards don't move as quickly as they used to, so - even if you don't have the time to play - pop back in every now and again.

Thanks Kaz, it is good for me to at least reconnect a little. Thank you for keeping this thing alive for so long.
In doing some review I think my timing would have been off a little. Hell, I am getting a little older and things are starting to be blocked out in the memory in 10 year chunks so I tend to round things. KAN was born in late '99 and we were playing with TBH for a while before we moved to KAN. In fact in some of my early posts that Raila has archived ( thank you Raila) Show I was also part of CRF. Like others have mentioned I still use Highwarlok as an Internet handle. This game was made a lasting impact on me on analysis and problem solving and even the ability to lead others in concerted efforts to accomplish specific goals. Hopefully some others will pop in as well.
