Tightrope without a Net

Postby Mickal Redwater » Thu Apr 08, 2010 5:23 pm

I climb up this tree
Waiting for the sun to fall down
Leading you to me
This myth of love that can’t be shook
Demystify this lonely world
I look down from my perch to find you
But only the ground stares back.

I pause atop this bridge
Waiting for the ships to pass
Are you beyond that ridge
As the somber night takes hold
Am I destined for desolation
I lean over the ledge, looking for you,
But only the crashing waves of dark water return my stare

I stare across this vast desert
My feet against the cliff
Vultures staring greedily
As my feet start to slip
Am I destined for isolation, as
I turn to see if you’re holding me
But only the wind stings my eyes

High above the skyline
My mind shook like dice
I ask myself how high am I
As I walk across this wire
Cause it won’t matter if you are there
To catch me
If I start high enough

oh how the wolves cry
no birds chirp,
the leaves die.
Descending the sky
(i shall not mention the moon,
for so full is so obvious
a muse)
no dew collects
for silence rests
(no silence exists
not in this world
or the one i call
only mine)
My heart beats
as the stars chase
some invisible rabbit
in the sky
(who wins the race
everynight they fight
but is there a winner
if the winner only goes
out of sight)
