----

She'd been sitting in the same chair for hours now. How she managed to do so without a peep coming out of her mouth, was beyond her. Queen Elestra, Lenne's adoptive mother, had some business to attend to. It was required of Lenne to be present to such meetings, seeing as though she was the Princess of this kingdom now.

Lenne sighed very softly, shaking her head as she looked down. Elestra looked over to her and grabbed one of Lenne's shoulders gently, pulling it back into the seat quickly.

Sit straight. No princess slouches like that! Her mother screeched.

Lenne looked up at Elestra with annoyed eyes as she sat back straight in her chair. This is stupid. I have no business being here. I don't even know what they're talking about!

Several hours later...well into the night.

Her list was long. Longer than she thought it would be after she finished writing it up. In a dark leather bag, sweaters, skirts, one long robe, boots, and all of her other belonings had been crammed into the bag. This escape from this hell house had been a sudden urge, but Lenne was convinced it was the right decision. She was miserable here, and a miserable princess has no business staying here.

All set.

Dragging the leather bag behind her, Lenne made her way out of her bedroom, stealthily hopping about down the enormous staircase. Trema, her personal servant, was standing at the bottom of the stairs, half asleep.

My lady Lenne? Why are you up at this-!

Before he got a chance to finish, Lenne placed her hand over his mouth to keep him quiet. She shook her head slowly.

I have to get out of here, Trema. Please don't tell Elestra I left. She'll come out for me and I can't have that..she said in a faint whisper. A moment of silence followed and the young servant spoke again.

If that is what my lady wishes, then I shall speak of this to no one.

A faint smile curved Lenne's pale lips as she nodded to her friend and servant. This was her silent goodbye.

The formerly known princess looked back up at the staircase to see a candle flickering about. It was heading this way. Her eyes shot open. It was Elestra! Lenne took one last look at Trema, who in return nodded and shooed her out the main entrance. Before the Queen could make it around the corner, Lenne had already ran out the door and into the nearby woods.

----

Lenne had been walking in a circle for hours it seemed. The dress she was wearing was already starting to have a wear and tear effect. It looked horrible. Her hair was messy with twigs sticking out her long cinnamon colored hair.

I can't believe I am getting second thoughts about this.

Crack!

Lenne looked back to see a moving figure. It was too dark to identify the figure as uman or an animal, never the less, she tried to ignore it and carry on.

Heheheheh...

She shivered as that laugh echoed from behind. Lenne looked back quickly again, it was following her! Her breathing began to speed up, she was scared. As she turned back, Lenne tripped into a tree root and landed face first into a muddle of thick mud. She must have had an adrenalin high, because as soon as she fell, Lenne bolted back up and began running in a straight line. The former princess had no clue where she was going...

"Where the hell have you gotten us to Luclin?"a young man called to another. Both rode upon war horses but niether was attired for battle. Sure swords hung from their waste but in their grasp were short hunting bows.

"I have no clue I was just chasing that damn buck you missed. If you could not hit him from no more then five paces how the hell you hit anything during war?"

"Tis' a mystery to even me. Truth be told I just aim to the sky and loose." He smiled back at his emperour and friend. Behind them were four more to their party but these were not hunter but rather soldiers. Attired and ready for a battle at any moment they sat silently and surveyed the surrounding woods.

The crackle and rustle of forest brough their attention. Both the hunter brought their bows to the ready. String pulled to the cheek and eyes staring down the shafts nocked upon them. A figure emerged and fell to the ground luckily for her cause if she hadn't both men would of peirced her heart or head.

Her hair was full of twigs and her dress was ripped in places where the underbrush had caught ahold. Dirts and sweet streaked her young face.

"What have we here," Luclin said manuvering his horse infront of her to block her path. His partner in crime moved forward a bit so the girl was between them.

"Looks as if the forest has brought us something better then meat on our plate."

"Aye does seem so." He noticed a pendant that hung from the girls neck. "And a heathen one at that." Luclin said to the other. Hearing the word heathen the four gaurds grabbed the pommels of their blades and moved forward only to be restrained when the boy raised his hand ordering them to halt.

"So young one what bring you out this night?"

The tip of her finger as less than an inch away from the vendors nose as she scolded him.

"You know an I know tha's not the right price for fruit. C'mon! It's local fruit. That price is incredably high. Stop tryin' to shaft me eeeh. Isonia's teeth! Don't try to hang me finacially over a few apples because I'm a gypsie. Give me a fair price man!"

The shook her finger in his face, tapping the man's nose none to gentlely. He didn't want to provoke her to unnessicary action so the raised her brows, tilted her head, and motioned towards the knife in the waist band of her skirt. Her hand rested on it lightly. When she saw he noticed what she was saying with out worded she smiled broadly revealing very very white teeth. Good. She wasn't making a spectacle out of her self for nothing. He got her meaning. It was rather loud and clear.

"Aaah Fine fine you can have tha' pound fer three gold peices. No less! You're gonna bleed me dry ya are,"the round pudgy vendor stammered. She nodded pleased with herself as she dropped the gold into his hand and loaded the provisions she'd bought into the wagon.

The wagon was a sight to behold. It was covered with brightly colored cloth. All the shades of the rainbow and brilliant patterns. As she dropped the basked of apples in the back of the cart she looked around and saw town's people looking at her curiously. Where was Moona?! The silly woman had wandered off again.

"What?! I worship Isonia," She said loudly to the towns people like that would make her anymore acceptable. She shrugged and struck off down the road in search of her companion.

"So young one what bring you out this night?"

Lenne looked up at the men surrounding her. In particular, the one who eyes her pendant up. Putting a hand over her pendant, she looked up at him with angry eyes. The sun priestess was debating whether it was worth answering his question or not.

I'm trying to escape my mother's grasp. I can't breathe around her. So I'm trying to get out on my own.As she explained this to the man, she tried to squeeze through the two men keeping her in the same spot. She pushed and pushed, but to no avail. A sigh escaped her as she fell to her knees, exhausted.

What do you want from me...

She regretted saying that. It sounded like a great opporunity to take her with them and do whatevewr they pleased. Lenne wasn't a very strong woman. Petite, and very fragile.

The golden circlet that circled for head and hung in front of her forehead fell before her. As she leaned over to pick it up, one of the horses hoofs crushed it quickly. Lenne's eyes shot open to look up at the man again.

What do you want from me!

Moona sat on a table pretty as you please in the middle of one of the taverns in the town. She was regaling the patrons with a little tale about a bear she and Minuette had faced not too long ago. While she spoke she gestured wildly with a mug of ale in her hand. Truth be told more ale was ending up on the floor than in her belly.

"And while I stoode on the seat to the wagon, screaming just screaming my pretty little head off Minuette looks at me and says.

Would you just shut that gaping hole ya call a mouth for two seconds? Just two?

Natuarally that stopped me. But while we were looking at each other and not that horrible beast, it was advancing on us. I'll swear right here and right now that it was gonna eat us alive it was!

I just happened to look up and he wasn't but a few feet away and....

Her words suddenly dropped off and she looked up. Uhhho she was in trouble. Lots and lots of trouble.

What do you want of me!

The girl looking up at him asking again. Her lips seemed yo be in a perpetual pout. She would fetch a bit of coin on the block and do well in Tarian Dor but not the small backwater town they currently rented a few rooms at.

"Well young one nothiing more then to free you from your mother's grasp." Luclin leaned from his saddle grabbing one of her wrist he jerked her to her feet and beyond. All the way until her stimach rested on the mount beneath. "Now don't sqruim or I may loose my grip and you be trapled by the horse beneath us."

Lenne didn't have the chance to think about an answer before she was pulled onto a horse. She lay on her stomach, trying to hold on firmly, feeling the man's grasp on her.

"Now don't sqruim or I may loose my grip and you be trapled by the horse beneath us."

Her eyes shot open as she looked to her side to look at the man. She was beginning to regret this. The man's eyes told a different story than what he seemed to promise. Actually, his promises were real, but the intentions seemed far from being good ones. She let out a hard sigh as her nails almost seeped into the horses thick skin. Lenne didn't mean to hurt the poor animal, but she was scared.

So..then..her voice hesitated, where are we going?

Lenne was beginning to have flashbacks for the previous afternoon. Somehow, being held back by an overly strict mother seemed much more appealing than being dragged about on a horse. Her stomach was beginning to hurt. A sign, parhaps?

So...then...where are we going?

Away from your mother if that is good enough for you?" Luclin said a mischievious smile on his lips. "If not then to a village not to far from here. Its within my realm and you'll have all that u need. " Placed his hand a little firmer upon the small of her back to hold her in place. "If you like you can sit behind me rather ride so."

The woods started to thin around them and a farm was seen in a clearing here or there. The tell tale signs of approaching civilization but not how distant it maybe.

A village not too far from here sounded decent enough, she supposed. She never really got to walk out of Elestra's grasp, let alone the castle she lived in, so the neighbouring towns and villages were but a mystery to her. Land unseen.

As the man offered to let her sit behind him, Lenne nodded to herself as she pushed herself up quickly, plopping her two legs on each side of the horse. She dared not put her arms around his waist. That would seem to clingy. Instead, she tightened her legs around the horse as much as she could as they rode on.

My name is Lenne, by the way. I figured an introduction was in order. Thank you...for helping me.

Her previous feelings of fright and regret were flushed away by relief. Relief that this man really could help her. He said nothing. The sun priestess arched an eyebrow at the man. Still nothing.

Hmph.

A sly smile on his face Luclin felt the girl behind him. He had noted how she did not put her arms around him and noted the reflief that was plainly in her voice. Keep this sharade up with her all the way to Tarian Dor or to dispose of her in the village? In the capital a girl such as her could fetch a nice price the brothels trying to outbid their competitors. Or perhaps he should keep her. Slavery though wrong had its advantages. He laughed.

"Well Lenne my name is Luclin Mirishini I am but a humble servent of the realm." He lied.

The village came into veiw a waist high wall surroundeding it not so much as defences against humans but rather as defence against the annual floods that plagued part of the country. A cluster of homes and shops could be seen while most where thatch wthere were a few roofed in Tile the biggest roof dominated the center of the town was obviously the inn. Smoke rose from nearly every house belaying the evening meal was being prepared. Farms tended their fields stil though a few were slowly making their way to the village their chores for the day accomplished.

Lenne nodded as the not-so-nameless man introduced himself as Luclin. His last name was difficult to pronounce, and therefore, she would know him as Luclin from there on.

As the village she would be staying at came near, she could see many roof tops and shops and a lot of the things she'd remember seeing. It was about time she got out of the prison she called home for so long.

The priestess tightened her grab on Luclin as they entered the village gates. People looked at them as they troddled on the horse to the tall building also known as the inn.

Luclin hopped off his steed as Lenne watched him. He stretched his arm up to help her down. She reached over for his arms as she slowly dismounted the horse as well. His arms were strong, almost scary to be held like that by a woman her size. A bit more force and it seemed every bone in her body could crumble before him.

They entered the inn, and Luclin quickly attended to some duties. Lenne looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings she was now going to have to get accustomed to. She hugged herself, a bit uneasily.

This is..where i'll be staying?

Two of his gaurds had stayed with the girl the others had followed him. Out the back of the inn and to the stables where a horse man waited. He wore no insignia or anything else to identify who he owed his alleigence to.

"What have you to report.?" Luclin asked of the waiting man.

"Your highness I have travels far into the lands of The Ten. While their armies are vast they currently pose no threat along our boarder. At the moment their focus is on that of Callineb if you so wished it the legions could move in and sway the war in the favor of Isonia."

"Callineb have not asked for our assistance so I will do no such thing. Return to my uncle and inform him that I want two legions stationed along the boarder for defence. They are by no means to enter the heathen realm. Have him move the rest back to the capitol and to their home providences for the time being. Then you are to go to Commander Frost and inform him that I wish that he command the Praetorianus de Impertorius to escort me home. I wish to leave by nightfall tomarrow."

The scout saluted him crisply and left. Luclin returned to the inn to see Lenne staring about the common room as if lost. He walked over to her And again noticed the pendant.

"Lenne, I'm tolerant and my people are tolerant of me. But..." he fingered the pendant and dropped it into her travelworn gown. "This will make their blood boil. Keep it hidden for you are in the lands of Isonia and if you were not in my company would now have your throat slit displayed in the village square." As if it was no longer a thought he moved on. "You look famished perhaps a meal?" Waving to the innkeep, an ederly man his lone shirt not concealing his love of food and the gearth that accompanied such.

A woman occupied the center of the inn clustered around by folk as she told some tale or another and the young Emperour woundered if he could still be delighted by tales like the common folk but thought probably not as he would of been a few months ago.

"This will make their blood boil. Keep it hidden for you are in the lands of Isonia and if you were not in my company would now have your throat slit displayed in the village square."

Her eyes shot open again as she looked down at the pendant she was wearing. Lenne looked back up at Luclin and nodded quickly, undoing the pendant and putting it in the palm of her hand. She had no pockets to keep it in.

As Luclin offered a meal, Lenne smiled solemly and nodded. That would be great. The young woman looked down at her hand again, staring at the pendant blankly. She wondered how desprate she was to get out of her own home as to betray her faith by taking off this jewel of Darden.

A small tear began sliding down her flush cheek. Lenne felt lost now. This pendant was all she had left of her past.

Lenne began to reminisce about her past. The TEN were waiting for her. In fact, deep down, that is where she was heading for, before meeting Luclin, but now what? Would she find her true home?

Minuette stalked into the inn and right up to Moona. She grabed her wrist and jerked her smooth off the table, spilling what was left of the ale on the floor. Both were tall, slim fair haired women with deep sun bronzed complexions. Minuette stood toe to toe and nose to nose with Moona. Her words came out stiffly as she said to her,"You stupid little twit! Stop this nonsence right this minute! We've business to attend to or have you forgotten? Go to the wagon and wait for me while I finish up. Now!"

Minuette didn't wait for Moona to respond. She just stalked out of the inn. Once out side again she began to whistle, her nose in the air, hands behind her back and taking long swinging strides. It looked rather comical really. A tall blond woman in flowing skirts and scarves swinging her legs in a gait as if she couldn't controll her own limbs.

They sat at one of the tables the innkeep hurried over with wine and bread. Luclin did not know what to say to the girl he could tell she regreted her actions now but it was to late. His mind was set either keep her for himself give her away as a present or sell her. The laws of the land were clear. She had not forsworn her god before entering the land of the Imperium her life and property were forfit. Only those with senatorial approval were allowed to enter the empire and leave un-molested. For somereason he liked the girl though and felt a strong urge to keep her. Debating with himself he decided it was not wise what would the Senate think of an Emperour with a heathen concuibine. He could not bear to give her away either for he knew that one day they would meet again as the noble house of the realm often mingled. That left only one choice the block. Because he liked the girl he would give her one more night of freedom and set her in motion in the morning.

"Lenne I must apologize.." the food arrived while he spoke a small roast of beef with all the dressings. "their are no more rooms availible you will have to share mine." He held his hand up before she could protest "I promise you your honor will remain in tact this night but their is not other choice." He looked at the inkeep "Draw myself and the lady here a bath if you would please."

"O' course Yor 'ighness" the man had a terrible draw but was still somewhat understandible. "One tube or two?"

"Two if you would." the innkeep bowed and left them alone.

Moona worked her mouthg like a fish when Minuette pulled her off the table. There was no telling who was the brains of the operation. It was certainly not Moona. She never worried about the more serious side of things. She continued to work her mouth and watched as Minuette verbally assulted her and leave.

"Aww shucks. Looks like I'll have to finish some other time folks! Ta ta!"

Moona smiled and waggled her fingers at the stuned patrons before scampering out of the inn. She scowled as she watched Minuette walk down the street. Scuffing a foot in the dirt she frowned.

"That woman is so so bossy. Ugh."

Once she reached their wagon she climbed up and parked herself on the seat. Picking up the reins she began talking to the horses. She chattered like a little bird.

A decent feast was set before her. Meat, vegetables, drinks. She needed this kind of meal right now. All this stress and worry made her stomach hurt.

Luclin began speaking to Lenne. The young woman paid little attention until he spoke of sharing his room. Lenne stopped gobbing down her food like an ogre and looked at him. A blank look on her face.

"I promise you your honor will remain in tact this night but their is not other choice."

Honor? What about it. What about privacy. She barely knew the man, and now she had to share a room with him? Could she trust him that much?

It was not the time to worry again, Lenne thought to herself. It was time to try and relax, and let things flow as they go. From now on, it would be spontaneous. Nothing planned. This promised to be interesting enough. Either interesting, or enormously dangerous.

Luclin spoke again. He had ordered someone to prepare their baths. Lenne agreed to this quickly enough. She reeked and her face was muddy. She looked like a beggar off the streets, which, at this point, she was very close to being one. As soon as the young priestess finished her meal, she pushed the plate away and looked over at Luclin.

I'm ready for a bath now. I could use one really.

He showed her the way to the washroom and the young woman noticed many baths, in one room. The only thing that left them little privacy were the thin curtains seperating each bathtub. Lenne gulped down for a moment, hesitating. Sharing a room was one thing, but now, having to share a washroom was something Lenne was never accustomed to, nor did she ever wish to be.

"Perhaps I can see you in suitible cloths. There should be a robe by your tub it do not be much but it should work until something better can be brought up." A young lad of no more then six or seven tended the coals placed beneath the copper tubs to keep the water within warm."Boy," Luclin retrieved and flicked a gold coin at the boy, "fetch the seemstress."

"Yes your highness and thank you your highness." The boy stammed expecting a copper but not gold. He ran out of the room before the emperour to change his mind and take the gold back. Luclin smiled at his retreating back. Walking to the nearest tub and not drawning the curtain he was soon clothed as much as the moment of his birth. Up and over the rim of the tub he slowly lowered himslef down. A sigh of contentment escaping him. Until he noticed Lenne standing where he left her. Her expresion made him laugh it was plain that she was shocked.

"Oh forgive me Lenne your customs are much different then my own," standing he reached out and grabbed the curtain to close it and chuckled again as it closed. "Perhaps that is more to your liking, just leave your clothes where they fall they will be retrieved and memmed as best as they can and returned to the room by morning." With that Luclin leaned back and let the stress roll off him just like the sweat caused by the bath he now occupied.

Minuette growled in her throat as she stormed back to the cart. They had been to late. It was either try again tommorow or go on to the next village and look for what they wanted. She only hoped they could afford what it was they were after. It wouldn't do for them to come all this way and not get what they came for. As she neared the cart she say Moona was asleep. She sat with the reins in her hand and her head tilted to the side, her mouth wide open.

And wouldn't it be just their luck that they'd stopped the cart before an estblishment devoted to wasteful ways. Several drunk men came spilling outside into the dark right before Minuette. She had a clear veiw of them before the door shut and killed of the light that came spilling it to the street. She scowled and went to a water barrel as they made their way up the street. While searching for a vessel to fill with water she snorts indelactly and mutters to herself,"Course! Send 'er to the damn cart to watch an' what does she do?! What! She sleeps!"

She shook her head as she leaned over and picked up a sturdy little bucket. Scooping up a pailfull of cold water she stides over to the cart. She pulls the bucket back and gives Moona a little shower. As Moona sits up sputtering and coughing Minuette leans over and laughs.

After a few minutes Minuette climbs up on to the seat of the cart and jerks the reins from the other woman's hands while she just blinked owlishly at her.

"Don't just sit there! Scoot over woman,"Minuette said as she shoved Moona's shoulder and sent her across the seat, almost pushing her off.
"Sleeping when you shouldn't. Tych. For shame Moona! You know better. Sometime's I'd like nothing more than to string you up by your toes from the nearest tree. Reall.

Anyhow. We need to make camp for the night or stay at the inn. I don't really want to spend the coin that we've saved up so we'll camp at the edge of town."

Lenne looked in shock as Luclin made himself quite comfortable. She turned her head away, blushing.

"Oh forgive me Lenne your customs are much different then my own."

Lenne forced a small smile as Luclin pulled the curtains. Phew. She walked over to her own bath, stripping down to nothing as her clothes were immediately picked up by someone. She looked back and raised an eyebrow at the little boy who ran off with her clothes. As she stepped into the tub, Lenne closed her eyes, trying to relax.

So I assume my clothes will be fixed then? She said a bit worried as she slowly looked over to this cloth robe. No way would she ever willing wear such a thing!

The warm water was beginning to take effect; her muscles were becoming untense, and her mind wandered off long enough for her to get a few minute's sleep. When she awoke, it felt like she had been asleep for ever. Lenne hoped that Luclin hadn't spoken to her.

The high priestess washed her face thoroughly. Well, at least enough until she felt clean, which was longer than she needed to wash for. The dirt from her face had melted into the water. Now the clear liquid was turned into light brown water. Lenne wrinkled her nose in disgust as she quickly stood up and got out of her bath tub. The air was cold, and Lenne could not stand the cold. Without a second's thought, she pulled on the cloth robe that Luclin had displayed for her. It would have to do...for now.

Cold. Wet. What the h....?

Moona sat up with a jerk and sputtered. She'd been drenched by Minuette. She blinked at her a few times as if to say who are you? What have you done with my cousin? Next thing she knew she was perilously close to falling to the ground. Latching on to the seat with both hands she was able to save her self from falling to the hard ground.

She sat bemused for a moment, gathering herself as the cart rattled off down the road. Why was it that every time Minuette came along from doing something she showed violence toward her? Moona reached over and yanked on a trendle of Minuette's hair and said,"No need to be so mean! Gosh I did what ya told me to. What is with that anyways? You always telling me what to do? I thought we were equals here."

The whole time she was talking and yanking on Minuettes hair she hadn't relised that the other woman had droped the reins when she reached up to pry Moona's fingers from her hair. She was screeching like a burned cat and the horses had veered to the left heading straight for a little cottage. When Moona looked up her eyes grew big as eggs and she squealed,"Oh my! Dear Isonia saaaaaave us!!! Minuuuuuueeeetteeeee! Loooook ooooouuuut!"

"Oh my! Dear Isonia saaaaaave us!!! Minuuuuuueeeetteeeee! Loooook ooooouuuut!"

Minuette looked up with a tiny squeal and quickly snatched up the reins. She jerked on them pulling the animals to a stop and diverting the potential disaster that had been in the making. At least Moona had remembered what faith they were following today. She turned and looked at her with murder in her eyes. Hands raised in a claw like fashion she advanced on Moona across the seat.

"You little twit! Have you any idea what you've almost done? Almost got us killed thats what! You know people don't like our type. If we had ran the cart straight into that cottage they'd have hung us like there was no tommorow. Tych!" She made the little noise in frustration as she flicked Moona's nose. She snapped the reins and clicked her tounge at the horses, setting them into motion again this time not in the direction of a house.

The rest of the short ride was silent. Once they got a clearing outside of the village with a stream near by. Minuette sat on the seat with her arms folded over her buson and directed Moona, "Go gather the things to make a fire and unhitch the horses first and put them on picket lines by the stream. Then you can take care of teh fire"

She sat through the scolding in silence. She didn't say a single word but when they stopped to make camp Minuette's behavior really infuriated her. She took care of the horses quietly.

As she came back to the cart she stood below Minuette her arms akimbo and scowled up at her. With out warning she reached and grabbed ahold of her foot. With one mighty yank Minuette was sitting on the ground and groaning, trying to rub the back side that had been rudely abused in such an abhorrent fashion. She looked up at Moona suprise clearly written all over her face as Moona began to yell.

"Minuette! I've been berated, abused and treated like a servant! I am sick and bloody tired of your attitude! You treat me better or you'll find your self alone in a field in the middle of nowhere one morning with no cart, no horses, no clothes on your back or food to put in your belly. And NO ME! Do you HEAR me?

Now make the fire your own damn self!"

Moona having said all that kicked a little cloud of dust in Minuette's direction and stalked around the wagon. She rumaged though the sacks and provisions in the very back for the food they would be eating for dinner. Dried salt sured beef, some day old bread, apple and cheese. She fumed the whole time.

Luclin had lef the bath earlier peeking in on Lenne he seen she was asleep. He quickly dressed and crept out. He informed the boy to show her his room and tell her the bed was hers if she so wished. There were other matters that needed his attention. Down the hall and the stairs out the common room and beyond. He walked about five or six buildings down and entered. It was not much to look at but atleast had whitewashed walls and a tile roof. Inside there was a large common area with benches all facing towards a stage. Along the back wall cages sat in the open wroght iron bars enclosing the merchandice within.

"Where is your master?" Luclin asked the merchandice.

"In the back" one of the slaves answered. Luclin proceeded to the back the slave already forgotten. In this room a man sat at a desk. More like a giant really but still a human sat at the desk in the flickerlight of a candle counting stacks of coins.

"May I help you?" he asked looking up from his accounting. His voice seemed to shake the very walls.

"Ahh yes I have a peace of property that will be left at the Inn tomarrow would you retrieve it at noon and sell it for me?"

"It is goods I barter in?"

"Of course you can have the profits sent to Tarian Dor."

"To where and what is your name?"

"To the citidal and my name is Luclin Mirishini."

The man just made a few notes in his book and then stood up and offered his meathook hand to Luclin. The boy shoke it and departed, She' have the rest of this night of freedom and the most he could give her now.

Minuette stood up with a little cough and rubbed her aching behind as Moona stacked away. Wow, what had brought that on? She shrugged and made the fire silently and went to pull their bedding from the back of the cart at Moona prepaired their dinner. Minuette laid out the pallettes silently and then ate in silence. As did Moona. Once they'd finished eating they both laid down.

Minuette lay on the lumpy bedding and stared up at the stares.

"Moona, I am sorry. Good night."
