The grizzled, snow-maned elf nodded once and turned towards the warband, leaving his back towards Tralek in an insulting manner. A brief smile tugged at his lips as Karzyn heard the fool jerks his horse around which resulted in a snort of anger from the trained warhorse. But Karyzn remained focus on the warband as Tralek and a small contingency of guard rode towards the keep.

"Disband and seek out your families. A job well done, all of you."

Pride colored his thoughts as they saluted and started to mingle with those remaining guardsmen. Calls of welcome and recognition rang out. There was alot of catching up to do and Karzyn turned at the approach of an elf he recognized. The sight of the elf brought a full smile to Karzyn's grizzled features and he reached out to clasp Luin's shoulder.

"Its been a long time, my friend."

Luin's hand clasped Karzyn's shoulder and squeezed before he spoke. "Too long." A crease marred Luin's brow as his smile faded, his hand withdrawing to hang at his side. "Where is Narissa?"

Karzyn felt the smile slide from his features and he turned to look back the way they had come. *I wish I knew.* Turning back to Luin, the grizzled, snow-maned elf spoke.

"She's coming."

Morning dew covered the forest, the sun's slow rising having not dried it yet. Stretching fully, the lithe, dark-haired elfess lazed upon the ground for a few more moments before rising. The gorged feeling that had assaulted her after feeding was gone but she was not hungry now. Nor did her shoulderblades ache as all had healed in the night.

Retying the shirttails to hold it shut across her chest, Narissa rose. The leathery sound of wings unfolding rang out as they sprouted from her back. She did not take off immediately instead she sent her thoughts towards Karzyn.

*I will be there by nightfall.*

The winged, dark-haired elfess crouched then launched herself skywards. Once clear of the canopy formed by the treetops, Narissa turned eastwards as she rose high enough to not be a target by those upon the ground. She would have to land a ways away from the keep and walk in but that was fine.

Land passed beneath Narissa in a flow of color and shapes. Forests gave way to grasslands which gave way to villages and city to only be taken back over by the forests. As the day passed her thoughts drifted between the dreams she had over the past week, Karzyn and the warband and the encounter with Tanarri. Her thoughts kept purposefully off the torture she had suffered within the void.

With the warband released to visit friends and family, Karzyn made sure those in the band whom were not from here had safe lodgings and a few words of advice on keeping their faith underwraps. There could be no slip ups while here or the delicate balance currently had would be tipped. Tralek had, under the pressure of pissing off the families that were happily rejoicing the safe return of their loved ones, made sure all had accomodations. Not that he cared for the ones assigned to Narissa and himself. Separated by half the keep, on purpose no doubt. A scrowl tugged the grizzled, snow-maned elf's lips downwards. Tralek was in for a surprise if he tried to harm her. Karzyn would rip him to shreds if she didnt do it first, literally. That thought brought a slight lightening of features though his lips were still tugged downwards.

There had been those he recognized and though his thoughts were still lingering on Narissa's arrival, Karzyn went to visit with his long lost friends and family members in hope that this would make the time go quicker.

*SMASH* The sound of glass shattering sounded out within the large bedchamber that Tralek was pacing around in. He stomped by as the bits of vase fell to the floor from where it had hit the wall. There was nothing else in this world he wanted more right now than to hurt someone but that would just cause trouble. Everytime Karzyn's words echoed through his mind, anger burst forth. The Lake has called for Narissa. It was HIS lake! This was HIS keep! These were HIS lands! Where was Narissa these last four years? Not here! She left! She forsook Isonia and the Lake was calling her??

Flesh pounded into the wooden wall as Tralek struck it. Pain sent hot rivets up his arm and fueled his anger to greater heights. Bringing the injured hand to his chest, Tralek's teeth bared.

"Narissa."

Water lapped gently at the edges of the lake as geese glided along its surface. Leaves rustled at the soft breeze stirring the tree tops though the churning, purple-streaked fog didnt drift from the center of the lake. Flowers still grew in abundance upon the paths, the hue ranging from pale yellows to blood red, adding the splash of vibrance to scene.

He could sense them more than see them but Karzyn knew that Tralek was having him trailed. The arrogant elfling was threatened and rightly so. Tralek only ruled by default and Karzyn knew, as well as Tralek did, that if Narissa restaked her claim here, they people might follow her no matter what changes to her had happened.

The grizzled, snow-maned elf's brow knotted while he walked the paths around the lake. She was coming and by this eve. But from what direction and where to meet? Gut instinct told him to wait near the lake. That she would find him when she desired to. But why, after all these years, why was she returning here? Why had the lake called for her?

Dark storm clouds had chased behind Narissa during most of the afternoon. Winds seemed to stir out of no where, buffeting her about and slowing the progress she made over the lands. At times it was like the strength of her wings were taken and the resulting plummet would startle the winged, dark-haired elfess.

After the fourth time this happened, Narissa angled for a secluded spot and set down. Senses extended as a deep breath was drawn in attempt to decipher any scents. A long moment passed before the wings upon Narissa's back stretched out behind her, then with an audible sound of ruffling leather the sucked into her back, disappearing from view. Long blades of grass whipped against her legs as the chill winds picked up. With a glance skywards at the rapidly darkening sky, the lithe, dark-haired elfess took off at a lope through the fields.

Tension caused the grizzled, snow-maned elf's brow to be lowered in a dark line the rest of the day. Most steered clear of Karzyn's path and those that did not made sure to end their business quickly. His pacing had taken him through all the corridors of the keep and unable to stay indoors longer, Karzyn departed for the area surrounding the keep.

In the face of the coming storm, it was almost quiet outdoors. Animals were seeking shelter and those elves about on duties were quickly finishing up as the dark, forboding clouds rolling in spoke of a torential downpour that might savage the land. This did nothing to ease Karzyn's mood. It wasnt a normal time of the year for such a storm here.

Thought began to drift through Karzyn's mind with an increased regularity. Where is she? What is taking her so long? Where has she been? Which way will she come in by? Obviously in the direction of the storm. Will she go to the keep? Or to the Lake? The Lake. She said to meet her there.

Without further thought, the grizzled, snow-maned elf turned from the coming stormfront. Chill winds were blowing in from the west but from the east was a warmer breeze. Where the two met, the air was swirling in a contest for dominance. Wind stirred the grizzled elf's snowy locks as he strode along the path in the direction of the fog enshrouded lake.

A lightness settled over the lithe, dark-haired elfess as she loped along the familiar paths of her youth. It mattered little that the brooding clouds overhead was casting the forest into a premature darkness. She was home. The surrounding forest was unnaturally quiet. The quiet that came when all the animals, insects and creatures of the forest retreated to their burrows in attempt to wait out a danger.

Trees thinned and a manicured look started to shape the surrounding foliage. Any that might have been out patrolling the paths would have noted a ragged dressed elfess loping along as if she owned the place. The remains of a fine dress shirt was torn and stained, tied to her torso by the shirt tails. The pants were held closed by a torn piece of cloth. The only things not ragged was the pair of mud covered boots on her feet. Tangled tresses of dark hair was loose and looked to have been untended for a few days. But if any saw her, none called for her halt.

Pulsing streaks of purple marked the fog-enshrouded center of the lake when it came into view. A decided bite edged the wind as it blew by. The lithe, dark-haired slowed to a halt, gaze upon the lake. A sudden uncertain feeling caught her in its grip accompanied by whisperings in the back of her mind. But the purple pulses increased in a beckoning manner. Giving herself a shake, Narissa started to lope around the path the circled the lake.
