Now if you go with changing between the gods, prophets and, mortals for different ages would the guilds be required to update their charter to match the current age?

We'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it, need to change the guilds system slightly if we impliment guilded instances.

Guild apps will have to be resubmitted.

The database is too cumbersome to bring over

Facebook app will take a little while. I first need to do some more cleanup on the current code. Until I can do that, Facebook isn't an option. Plus I also have to learn the Facebook API, but it doesnt seem too bad.

First step is get Monarchy up using the Canon code.

Second step is get Monarchy up using cleaned up code,

Third step is think about Facebook.

I have no idea what this would involve, but what about an iPhone app?

BTW- If it's a Facebook app, it needs to be simple and it needs to be fast. Those people don't waste time on long games or 3 hour warchats.

The Facebook app will interact with a Massacre style king of the hill game.

Start with a few thousand turns, load a prebuilt kingdom from the saved builds, get no more turns unless you claim them from a kingdom you have killed. With a high number of players, Massacre could be the game it's always meant to have been.

I suspect I would have to learn Java to make an iPhone app, so that's not really an option. I suspect MySpace may be another option, but one thing at a time.

yea thats the way to go, after they learn a bit , and like it, there can be a link to join the regular community in guilds and such.... i expect once this app is available our numbers should sky rocket....

what makes the game fun to start with is the war chats and getting to know your guildmates.... its a aspect of the game massacre can not offer...

to keep them intrested maybe it should go to a 8 turn per hr thing so it doesnt seem so slow....

also i saw someone mention the 75 free turn thing, i agree do away with it... esp if you are getting 8 to 10 per hr in guilds

i love the extra turn thing
it adds a whole new lvl of politics and game play to guilds.

makes u have to think about it, decide when to use them, guess if the other guild has used theirs etc.

i say keep em.
Wow do i need a new signature or what. suggestions??

turns are life blood, and there were some questions last age about the amount of turns that were being used, not accusing anyone , but if its done away with that will eliminate all doubt about turn counts in war time.....

There were accusations of manipulating a glitch in the system, V. And yes, it does bring a new level of politics, which is NOT what we want for a Facebook app and a bunch of new users. That's the toughest (and some would say most fun) part of the game, but also the most difficult to "learn". Make it simple and make it fun - that will bring people into the community.

There has not been a 'last age' yet

As far as Facebook goes - I actually play a good amount of Facebook apps. Mafia Wars, Street Racing, YoVille, FarmTown, etc. Different styles of games for sure, i think we would be closer to the Mafia War types then the others. But anyways... I have a pretty good understanding of how they work, what keeps people playing, etc. I think we could figure out a way to keep people playing it, and maybe get them to expand into the full blown game as well. But thats kind of out in the future as well.

To circle back to the turn question - I'm pretty sure the bonus turns will not be an option, I had already made that decision awhile ago but I haven't come to it in the code yet. So regardless its kind of a moot point. Although Kaz also brings up a pretty good point - there hasn't been a first age here yet.

What happened in the past, be it in the Evernight.net days, the Shareplay days, the Evernight.com days, I don't really want it to have too much of a bearing over what happens now. As we have mentioned before, fresh start all around. I would hope that people will take this oppertunity to drop some of the grudges, or to try something different and go back to having fun. Not being bitter.
